How to Get Logs of a Charging Station

If a charging station experiences a fault, you can retrieve its logs via the ChargePilot Dashboard. This functionality is particularly useful when communicating with the charging station manufacturer or handling warranty cases.

Prerequisites for Retrieving Logs

  • Your charging station must support the required OCPP message (GetDiagnostics).

  • The charging station must be online and available (note: many charging stations do not accept OCPP log requests during an active charging session).

How to Retrieve Logs

  1. Go to the Settings section in the ChargePilot Dashboard and navigate to the Charging Stations area.

  1. Use the search function to locate the specific charging station.

  1. Click on the Charging Station Logs tab.

  1. If your charging station supports log retrieval, you will see a blue Request Logs button. Click this button to request the logs.

Once the logs have been generated, they will appear in the table and can be downloaded. Please be aware that the time required to generate and display the logs depends on the size of the log file and your local internet connection.
